Caring for Dedham Teens Community Fundraising Initiative
The issue of teen homelessness and displacement is becoming a rising issue in our nation. It is one that has recently impacted the Dedham community at an alarming pace. In the fall of 2017, the Dedham Youth Commission organized an effort to address this issue with the help of several local organizations and individuals. Together the group has helped a number of Dedham homeless and displaced teens with crisis shelter planning, furniture, clothing, food, financial aid, counseling services, and so on. Through this process, it became very evident that the group needed to move towards a preventative approach in order to address the problems that lead to teen homelessness/displacement. These issues include depression, substance abuse, mental health illness, trauma, familial conflict, and other related socio-emotional issues. “CARING FOR DEDHAM TEENS” is a preventative effort to provide necessary resources to Dedham teens in order to help them gain and maintain a sense of safety and healthy, emotional well-being.
We ask you to partner with us by making a donation towards this effort. You donation will enable us to provide these services to teens and families in similar situations this year and beyond. We thank you in advance for considering a donation and invite you to join one of our subcommittees.
