Planning Dedham Square’s Future: Community Meeting #2
Dedham residents of all ages, business owners and employees—anyone with an interest in Dedham Square’s future—are invited to participate in a community meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, in the Dedham Middle School Auditorium, 70 Whiting Ave.
Tuesday's meeting will following up on the January 30 meeting and the community feedback gathered then. Gamble Associates, an architecture and planning firm that has worked with other communities on design guidelines, is working with the Town to establish and document a vision for future development.
The meeting is being hosted by the Dedham Square Steering Committee and will include a presentation of ideas about Dedham Square’s future, how the design of buildings and blocks can play a role in that future, and opportunities for members of the public to provide input.
Please attend if you have an interest in Dedham Square. Strong community engagement is very important to the success of this design guidelines effort, which will address design elements like building quality, massing, height, materials, and architectural character.
The Steering Committee will hold additional meetings to gather public comment on design goals and other objectives to keep Dedham Square vibrant and livable.
The Dedham Square Steering Committee, formed by Dedham’s Planning Board in 2017, includes nine members representing a cross section of Dedham. The Town is seeking four more representatives from across Dedham. For more information, please contact Economic Development Director John Sisson, (781) 751-9175, firstname.lastname@example.org.
