Dedham-Westwood Water District workers will begin flushing water supply mains to clean them on Wednesday, April 4, starting in the Greenlodge neighborhood.

Work will progress in the following locations through May 15:

  • the Manor neighborhood,
  • Oakdale Square and the Endicott area,
  • East Dedham,
  • northwest of Route 1 and Washington Street (Precinct 1), and
  • Riverdale.

Generally, work will be performed between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekdays. Crews will post on-street signs in the vicinity of active work sites to alert motorists and residents. For updates, please check the Water District's website or call (781) 329-7090.

To receive an email notification when crews will be working in your neighborhood, please email your address to customerservice@dwwd.org with the subject line "flushing."

Please check your water for discoloration before doing laundry, as this maintenance activity often causes temporary discoloration of water that may stain clothing. Periodic flushing of water mains is considered a best practice for public water supply water distribution systems. The flushing action helps remove mineral deposits from the pipe walls and may improve water quality and flow.

Thank you for your understanding.
