The Dedham Youth Commission:

  • Is dedicated to providing educational, socioemotional, recreational and health programs and services to the young people of Dedham.

  • Provides support, information and direction to youth on issues such as family, social, peer, stress, loss, alcohol, drug and other teens related concerns.

  • Offers a referral service for youth related situations.


Clinical Services

The Youth Commission offers individual and group counseling to youth and their families. We provide a  professional and confidential clinical and programmatic service. Our staff provides support, information and direction to youth on issues such as family, social, peer, stress, loss, alcohol, drug and other teens related concerns.

Job Bank

The Youth Commission provides a job referral service for teenagers in the Town of Dedham between the ages of 13 and 19. If you are a teen looking for work, please stop by the Youth Commission office for the latest postings and application. We also provide paid summer internships for teens through our annual Jog for Jobs event.

Community Service

The DYC develops and offers numerous Community Service projects throughout the year. We also volunteer with youth at numerous community events. Some of these events include:

Board and Committee Work

The Youth Commission works together with the Youth Commission Board, which provides feedback, ideas and support to the department's staff. All members have extensive youth related experience, which helps serve the needs of the youth and families in Dedham. Board members often volunteer at community events and Youth Commission related programs.
