The Planning Board studies and plans for the needs of the Town in relation to land uses and zoning for current and future real estate development, as defined by the Town Charter Section 3-9, and Town Bylaws.
The Planning Board has five members who are elected to 5-year terms, with an equal number of terms expiring each year as is feasible. Town elections are held annually on the second Saturday of April.

Town boards and committees consist of volunteers who may not be available during business hours. If you need a response during business hours, please contact the Planning & Zoning Department, as they provide staff support to this board.
The Planning Board holds public meetings on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month, unless otherwise posted. Additional meetings are scheduled as needed. Visit the Info & Applications page to view the annual meeting schedule.
Public meeting dates and times are posted at Town Hall and the Dedham Public Library at least 48 hours before each meeting in compliance with the Massachusetts Open Meeting Law. Meeting agendas will also be posted on this website.
