Rebates available for low water use toilets

The Dedham-Westwood Water District would like to remind customers of the criteria necessary to receive residential rebates for replacing high water use toilets with new low use toilets. The rebate offered is $50 per toilet with up to two toilet replacements allowed per residential property.

1. The new toilet must be a water-efficient model with a maximum water usage of 1.6 gallons per flush.

2. The toilet must have been purchased after May 1, 2005, to be eligible for this rebate.

3. The bill for the fixture and the plumbing installation must be presented to the Water District.If there is not a plumbing services bill, inspection of the premises may be required.

4. The customer must fill out an application for the rebate. Applications may be picked up at the Water District office at 50 Elm St. in Dedham and are included in the newsletter inserted in all water bills.

The customer's water service account must be current to be eligible for a rebate.

Applications that fail to meet all of the above requirements will not be processed.
