NOTICE OF INTENT TO POST A VACANCY
POSTING DATE: August 20, 2009
Pursuant to Section 6-13 of the Dedham Home Rule Charter, the Board of Selectmen calls the attention of all residents and others to the fact the following vacancies exist.
Sustainability Committee—Nine members
Three one-year terms to expire 2010
Three two-year terms to expire 2011
Three three-year terms to expire 2012
About the Sustainability Committee
The Sustainability Committee shall advise the Board of Selectmen on strategies for advancing the Town’s commitment to renewable energy, at the municipal, business and residential level and shall educate Dedham residents and encourage energy conservation and sustainability by addressing the long term impacts of fossil fuels such as pollution, global warming and climate change, thereby engaging the community in making smart energy choices and forging the patch for a sustainable Dedham that will have a long-lasting, positive impact on future generations.
The committee shall be comprised of a designee of the Board of Selectmen; a high school student who is also a Dedham resident and seven (7) at-large members. At its inception, the Board of Selectmen designee, the student and one (1) member at-large shall be appointed for a term of one year; three (3) members at-large for terms of two years; and three (3) members at-large for terms of three years.

How To Apply
Any person who desires to be considered for appointment for this position must respond between September 20th and September 30th; interested persons shall file with the Board of Selectmen, his/her name and residential address, and a resume and/or statement which sets forth in clear and specific terms the qualifications he/she holds for the position.
Applications must be received by the close of business on September 30, 2009.
