What is GIS?

A geographic information system (GIS) is an integrated collection of computer software and data used to view and manage information about geographic places, analyze spatial relationships, and model spatial processes.  The Town of Dedham uses GIS to map and model information about its infrastructure, land records, administrative boundaries and data related to many other relevant topics.  Learn more about the applications and benefits of GIS at www.gis.com.
