2008 update.

Recently the new sign at theGregory M Riley playground was stolen. The community rallied together to put a new one in place. In Spetember of 2008 the new sign was installed. Please see the article in the here  in the Boston Globe for the complete story opn the new sign.

This page is intended to update all interested parties on the status of the Paul Park Playground.

The Playground is now completed and open to the public. We had an official grand opening ceremony on Saturday Sept 16th. To see pictures of the dedication click here.  Special thanks to The Gregory M. Riley Foundation and Congressman Stephen Lynch who made this project possible. The Paul Park Playground was officially named the Gregory M. Riley Memorial Playground on September 16th 2006.

The Paul Park Playground (soon to be named the Gregory M. Riley Memorial Playground ) is now complete and open to the Public.

 

Our final time line for the playground, still subject to the weather.

Estimated Time line:

April 30 Current equipment being removed--Completed

June 19 Tree trimmed over playground area (dead branches-DPW)--

Completed

June 23 Stake out Playground area (Park & Rec foreman)--Completed

June 27 Equipment delivered to contractor (6-26)--Completed

June 30 Meet onsite with equipment contractor-7:30am-Completed

July 7-12 Site preparation - Excavate fill on site ( DPW )-Completed

July 13-20 All play structures in place and installed-Completed

July 20 Storm water permit filed with ConCom.

July 24-28 Black Fencing installed-Completed

July 26 Wood fiber delivered--Completed

July 26-28 Site filled with wood fiber ( Park & Rec. crew )-Completed

August 3 ConCom hearing on storm water permit.-Completed

August 7-10 Walkway installed (Spada Paving)-Completed

August 10-11 Benches & swings installed.-Completed

August 14 Unoffical opening (pending paving & equipment placement-Completed

Sept 8 Install memorial sign.Completed

Sept 16 Dedication of Playground at 12 noon.Completed

We will be offering a number of Memorial bench's at the Playground. The cost for sponsoring a bench is $1,250 and you will have a small engraved plaque with words of your choice. We will also be offering sponsorships for game tables and specially designed barrels.
