The Library Director supervises the administration of the department and reports to the Trustees of the Dedham Public Library and the Town Administrator. The Director is responsible for the efficient administration of the library. Including hiring of staff, oversees the maintenance of library buildings, prepares and presents the annual library budget and proposed capital outlay program. The Library's obligations include:

• purchasing print and non-print materials
• answering reference questions
• lending materials to the public
• providing electronic access to the Internet and to the databases of the Minuteman Library Network (www.mln.lib.ma.us) and other networks
