Single Stream Recycling & Automated Trash Collection
In 2009 Single Stream Recycling and Automated Trash Collection was implemented in Dedham. Single Stream Recycling allows residents to combine ALL recyclables (paper and cardboard, bottles and cans) together in one 96 gallon recycling container. Updates on this program will be posted to the Town’s website.
- Logistics: Each household will receive one 96 gallon recycling toter and one 64 gallon trash toter free of charge.
- Additional Trash Toter Request: The Town is no longer accepting applications for additional trash toters. If you require a replacement toter due to damage caused by Russell Disposal during pick-up, please call them at 888-870-8882. If your trash toter is missing or stolen, please call the DPW at 781-751-9350 and the issue will be investigated.
- Recycling: Recycling schedule is bi-weekly, please refer to your current calendar for pick up dates. Recycling must be placed properly on the curb before 7:00 AM. The recycling toter must be placed on the curb or edge of road at least 2 feet from your trash toter. The lid opening must be closed and facing the street. If the lid is open then material may blow from the toter when lifted into the truck. The recycling truck must have access to the toter without any obstructions.Single Stream Recycling allows all recycling to be placed in one container.
