2010 I/I Rehabilitation Project

  

The Town of Dedham Engineering Department is pleased to announce that the 2010 Infiltration Rehabilitation Project is now underway. The project began July 7, 2010 and is expected to be completed in the winter of 2010. The project is designed to remove an estimated 1,035,931 gallons of infiltration per day exclusively through trenchless technologies. The project involves the installation of 20,688 linear feet of cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) and the installation of 168 linear feet of short liners, as well as testing and sealing of associated joints and services and manhole and sewer line root treatment. The estimated cost of the project is $1,012,017.15. 

 

This work is being performed under an on-call service contract with Green Mountain Pipeline Services of Bethel, Vermont. 

 

The design of this project and associated contract bidding and award was performed by the Town of Dedham Engineering Department. In addition, the Engineering Department will be performing all resident inspection and contract administration in-house.   

 

All repairs to be performed under this contract are trenchless, meaning that no open cut excavation is required. Trenchless repairs are accomplished by inserting specialized equipment and liner materials into the sewer pipes through existing manhole access points.

 

This project is a continuation of the ongoing Inflow and Infiltration reduction program.
