The Town of Dedham's Parks & Recreation Department seeks highly qualified candidates for the position of Seasonal Van Driver. Candidates will be responsible for day-to-day transportation of program participants to local parks, businesses, and out of town field trips.  Candidates must be comfortable driving a 15-passenger vehicle and supervising youth. Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age and possess a valid motor vehicle license prior to starting work.
• Must have safe driving records.
• Must receive an acceptable CORI/SORI report, prior to starting work.
• Compassion, sense of humor and patience are required.
• Occasional strenuous physical effort required in assisting patrons entering and exiting vehicle. Position necessitates ability to climb in and out of vehicle frequently.
• Excellent vision and full use of legs, feet, hands and arms required to operate transportation vehicles.

Duties include:

• Operates various transportation vehicles from the Dedham Parks & Recreation Department to transport youth participants and staff members to Recreational destinations.
• Plans, prepares and implements routes of travel in order to best utilize fuel and time.
• Provides input for policies necessary for the efficient use of the van.
• Performs similar or related work as required or as situation dictates.
• Engages with program participants.
• Supervision of participants while in vehicle.
