Update on positive COVID-19 cases in Dedham
Public Health Nurse Jessica Tracy today confirmed that the Town of Dedham has been notified by Massachusetts Department of Public Health Officials of four additional positive cases of COVID-19. As required, the patients have been isolated and will continue to be monitored according to public health guidelines. In accordance with Federal and State privacy laws, no further information will be disclosed.
Board of Health Chair Leanne Jasset wants to assure the community that the board continues to work closely with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Jasset said, “with increased testing capabilities and community spread of COVID-19, positive tests are likely to continue. We ask that you remain diligent in practicing social distancing and proper handwashing, both of which are vital steps in slowing the spread of this disease.”
Information about COVID-19 can be found at the Massachusetts DPH website, by calling 2-1-1 or visiting https://mass211.org/ where citizens are able to live chat with a DPH employee. For specific questions, call the DPH Epidemiology Line 24 hours a day/7 days a week at (617) 983-6800; where an epidemiologist can assist you.
The Board of Health will continue to share information regarding testing, actions taken by the board with respect to services and activities, and other important updates.
