Summarized below are upcoming dates and reminders for trash and recycling services in Dedham through the holiday season. This information is also available on the Town website, www.dedham-ma.gov, and to email subscribers. HOLIDAY SCHEDULE & DELAYS

Trash and recycling collection will be delayed ONE DAY during the weeks of Christmas and New Year’s Day. Please refer to the table below to confirm your collection day during these two weeks:

Week of Christmas (Observed Monday, December 26)

Week of New Year’s Day (Observed Monday, January 2)

If other delays occur due to weather or other conditions, the Town will post updates on the Town website, email notifications, social media (@DedhamThrives on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram), and on Nextdoor.

UPCOMING EXCESS RECYCLING WEEKS

Excess recycling collection will be provided for two weeks following the Christmas holiday to accommodate for overflow of materials accumulated over the holiday season. All excess recycling will be collected on your regular recycling day during the following two weeks ONLY:

• Week of December 27 – December 31: Maroon “B” week
• Week of January 3 – January 7: Gray “A” week

Please place all additional recyclables in open barrels, paper bags or boxes next to your recycling bin at the curb for collection. All regular recycling guidelines still apply. Please refer to page 3 of the 2022 Trash/Recycling Collection Schedule for a full list of Recycling Do’s and Don’ts.

Accepted items include metal food and beverage cans, plastic bottles, jugs, jars, and tubs, glass bottles and jars, paper, and flattened cardboard. All containers must be emptied for recycling, and recyclables SHOULD NOT BE BAGGED. CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION

The DPW will collect Christmas trees beginning in January 2023. Please remove decorations, lights, and plastic from your Christmas and place at the curb for collection. Collection may not occur on your regular trash collection day and may be delayed due to weather conditions. Please keep your tree at the curb for collection as DPW crews will continue collecting throughout the month of January or until necessary.

Boston Carting Services, LLC. is in the process of mailing out the 2023 Collection Booklets to Dedham residents and have provided the attached collection calendar. Holidays, Cardboard Recycling events, and Yard Waste Collection weeks are noted.
