Dedham East Street Bridge Replacement Project Reminder
East Street Roadway Closure
The MBTA's contractor, P. Gioioso & Sons, anticipates closing East Street from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM on Tuesday, April 22 through Friday, April 25. A full detour will be in place during this work. You can view the detour map here. There will not be any work on Monday, April 21 due to the holiday.
Additionally, we anticipate closing East Street the week of April 28. Traffic will be detoured. We will provide more information on this work closer to the date.
These roadway closures are necessary so crews can conduct roadway utility work and paving.
Some Commuter Rail parking spaces on Grant Avenue, near the East Street intersection, will be temporarily unavailable during this period.
Adjacent Projects
Additional utility work unrelated to the project is also taking place in the Dedham East Street Bridge Replacement Project area.
Travel Tips
Those traveling through the area should expect delays and should reduce speed and use caution.
Weather and unexpected circumstances make all construction activities subject to change without notice, but we will do our best to keep you updated.
About the Project
The Dedham East Street Bridge carries the Franklin Line over East Street between Dedham Corporate Center and Endicott Stations. The MBTA will be replacing it with a new bridge that will meet the MBTA’s reliability and modernization standards.
