Dedham East Street Bridge Replacement Project Reminder
Full Weekend Commuter Rail Track & East Street Roadway Closure Starts June 6
The MBTA has scheduled an East Street roadway closure starting at 9 AM on Friday, June 6 through 5 AM on Monday, June 9. You can view the detour map here.
Additionally, the project team has scheduled a Commuter Rail track closure during the same weekend, June 7-8. Buses will replace train service on Saturday, June 7 and Sunday, June 8. For the most up-to-date information about Commuter Rail impacts, please view Franklin Line alerts.
This work is necessary to allow the contractor to install the new bridge.
Some Commuter Rail parking spaces on Grant Avenue, near the East Street intersection, will be temporarily unavailable during this weekend closure.
Adjacent Projects
Additional utility work unrelated to the project is also taking place in the Dedham East Street Bridge Replacement Project area.
Travel Tips
Those traveling through the area should expect delays and should reduce speed and use caution.
Weather and unexpected circumstances make all construction activities subject to change without notice, but we will do our best to keep you updated.
About the Project
The Dedham East Street Bridge carries the Franklin Line over East Street between Dedham Corporate Center and Endicott Stations. The MBTA will be replacing it with a new bridge that will meet the MBTA’s reliability and modernization standards.
