Work began on June 18 to install new solar canopies over parking areas at Dedham High School, Dedham Middle School, and the Avery Elementary School to no only create covered, shaded parking areas at the schools, but to help future school department energy costs and comply with State mandates for sustainable energy sources.

• Construction fencing was installed on June 18, followed by the mobilization of equipment and materials.
• Work started on June 30 and is expected to last for a few weeks and then move on to Dedham Middle School.
