A temporary road closure will begin on Monday, August 18, on Sprague Street between West Milton Street in Boston and Cedar Street here in Dedham to allow for underground utility work for a private development project.

The closure is expected to last five days, with work crews coordinating to complete the project as efficiently as possible. Access will be maintained for local residents and businesses throughout the construction period, and emergency vehicles will have full access at all times.

Clear detour signage will be posted to direct traffic around the work zone and Police Details will be onsite to assist.

While this utility work is part of a private development project and not a Town initiative, Dedham officials are working closely with the contractor to minimize disruption to the community.

Residents are encouraged to plan alternate routes during this period and allow extra travel time.
