Dedham & Westwood Shares Update Drought Status Now Level 1

Effective Monday, September 15 - The Massachusetts Drought Management Task Force has upgraded our region from Normal Conditions to Mild Drought, triggering mandatory water restrictions for all residents and businesses. What You Need to Know:

  • Outdoor watering limited to ONE DAY per week
  • Allowed times: Before 9 AM or After 5 PM only
    • Your watering day depends on your street name's first letter (see list below):
      • Monday: Street names beginning with A through C
      • Tuesday: Street names beginning with D through J
      • Thursday: Street names beginning with K through R
      • Friday: Street names beginning with S through Z
  • Hand-held hoses, drip irrigation, and watering cans still permitted for gardens

Why Now?

Despite recent storms, our streams, rivers, lakes, and reservoirs remain below normal levels due to ongoing below-average rainfall throughout the region.
