Help Shape Future of Dedham's Parks, Open Spaces

We're updating our Open Space and Recreation Plan and we need your help!
Post Date:10/01/2025 7:30 am

The Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) will guide the Town’s efforts to maintain, protect, and improve Dedham’s open spaces, parks, and recreational resources over the next ten years. As part of this process, we are launching a dedicated community survey focused specifically on open space and recreation needs.

Your responses will directly inform the goals and priorities of the OSRP and help the Town identify opportunities for long-term preservation, investment, and improvement in the places where Dedham residents live, play, and connect with nature.

Completing the OSRP update will continue Dedham to be eligible for state funding to acquire and enhance open spaces and recreation resources. That’s why it’s critical that we hear from as many Dedham residents as possible. Residents’ input will help ensure that our open space and recreation amenities reflect the character of our community and improve quality of life for all.

The survey is available as of Sunday, September 28. Please take a few minutes to share your thoughts and help shape the future of Dedham’s open spaces. Available online at beheard.dedham-ma.gov/osrc2026. Paper copies available upon request to our Conservation Division (contact information below).

We also invite all residents to attend the first Public Forum on the OSRP, on Saturday, October 25th from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Avery Elementary School. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about the planning process, share your ideas in person, and help shape the future of Dedham’s green spaces.
