As our department works to improve and maintain Dedham's roadways, we also try to minimize disruptions caused by construction. The Construction Updates section below will be updated to keep everyone informed of construction project locations and estimated timelines.

While we will do our best to keep this page as accurate as possible, please be advised that the schedule of construction projects may change as road construction timelines are subject to a range of external factors, including weather, safety, contractor availability, design complications, and funding.

Construction Updates

Sprague Street Sidewalk Work to Start Monday

Century Paving will begin constructing new sidewalks on Sprague Street this coming Monday. Please review the following project information and updates (as of October 16):

What's Happening

New concrete sidewalks, ADA-accessible ramps, and granite curbing will be installed from Carlisle Road down to the bottom of the hill on both sides of the street.

What to Expect

  • Work hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM 
  • Driveways will remain accessible during construction
  • Some walkways and driveways may need minor adjustments
  • Abutters will receive updated flyers three days before concrete is poured
  • May be brief, temporary delays to vehicle access at times
  • Please note the schedule depends on weather and may change.
