To help you plan your daily commute, we have compiled information about three upcoming detours into one place for your quick reference.

Please review the following detour information and updates for the week of October 20, 2025:

Dedham-Westwood Water District: East Street, Dedham Water Main Replacement Project

  • Continue removing temporary water main service connections. Residents connected to the temporary water main will be notified with instructions on the next steps. The process is the reverse of when we connected you to the temporary water main.
  • Miscellaneous water main work will occur on East Street between Norwich Street and Vincent Road.
  • Anticipated Traffic Management Plan and Work Hours:
    • The hours of work are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    • Depending on where work occurs, a lane shift, alternating, or two-way traffic pattern will be in effect on East Street.

MBTA East Street Bridge Project (as of October 17, 2025)

  • East Street will be closed on the following days:
    • Saturday, October 25 from 7AM to 3:00 PM. Police details will be onsite during this closure.
      • This detour is necessary so crews can conduct duck bank installation.
    • Weekdays (Monday through Friday) from 7 AM to 5:30 PM through the end of October
      • Please note, police details will be onsite to allow school buses to travel through the work zone.
  • Detour route in place is the same as weeks prior, and is available on the MBTA website.
  • For more information about this project, please visit the MBTA East Street Bridge Project page.
