As our department works to improve and maintain Dedham's roadways, we also try to minimize disruptions caused by construction. The Construction Updates section below will be updated to keep everyone informed of construction project locations and estimated timelines.

While we will do our best to keep this page as accurate as possible, please be advised that the schedule of construction projects may change as road construction timelines are subject to a range of external factors, including weather, safety, contractor availability, design complications, and funding.

Construction Updates

Lower East Street Milling and Paving Project

The Town's contractor, Lorusso Corp., will mill and repave Lower East Street from Washington Street to the Boston city line. Please review the schedule and important information below.

Project Schedule:

  • Thursday, October 23 – Friday, October 24: Road milling (removal of 2" of existing asphalt)
  • Monday, October 27 – Tuesday, October 28: Structure and utility box adjustments, patching
  • Wednesday, October 29 – Thursday, October 30: Paving

What You Need to Know:

  • Parking Restrictions
    • No parking on Lower East Street beginning at 7:00 AM Thursday, October 23
    • Remove all vehicles from the roadway before work begins
  • Trash & Recycling Collection
    • Place carts curbside by 7:00 AM on your regular collection day
    • Boston Carting will collect on your normal schedule
  • Traffic & Access
    • Police details will be present during milling operations
    • Expect minor delays throughout the project
    • Vehicle access will be temporarily restricted at certain times
