Support Dedham Families - Ways to Donate to Dedham Food Pantry

Donations of money or needed items can be made directly to the Food pantry, or items can be dropped off at our bins
Post Date:11/07/2025 10:00 am

The Dedham Food Pantry is facing increased demand due to uncertainty around federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. The Town of Dedham is helping raise awareness about the services available to residents and how you can help.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:

Cash Donations

Monetary donations are the most effective way to support our neighbors. Cash contributions allow the pantry to:

  • Purchase fresh and specific dietary items
  • Stretch dollars further through wholesale purchasing ($1 buys about $3 of food)
  • Respond quickly to changing community needs
  • Stock items that may not be donated regularly

Items to Donate

The Dedham Food Pantry Wish List is available on its website at dedhamfoodpantry.org/ and includes shelf-stable items (such as pasta, canned soups and meats, cereals), personal care items (such as deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste), and special dietary items (such as allergen-free foods, baby formula).

The Town of Dedham has placed clearly labelled collection boxes at the following locations for those interested in contributing to those in need:

  • Town Hall/Ames Senior Center – rear entrance (during business hours)
  • Dedham Libraries (both locations) – near main desks (during business hours)
  • Public Safety Building – inside public entrance, 24/7 (check in with desk officer)

Items can also be dropped off at the Dedham Food Pantry, located at 600 Washington Street at the north end of the Dedham Plaza. Specific drop-off times are listed on their website and inserted below:

  • Monday through Friday: 10AM to Noon
  • 1st & 3rd Wednesday: 5PM to 7PM
  • 2nd & 4th Wednesday: 12:30PM to 2PM
  • Saturday: 8AM to 11AM

Note: The Dedham Food Pantry is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization driven by volunteers, so donations are tax deductible.

Volunteer Your Time

The Dedham Food pantry needs volunteers to assist with shopping days for our community, picking up donations from retailers, stocking shelves, running food drives, etc. Learn more and sign up to volunteer at dedhamfoodpantry.org/volunteer/. (Please note: Volunteers under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.)
