Empowering young people through leadership, teamwork, and character development
Post Date:11/11/2025 7:30 am

The Dedham Youth Commission is excited to announce the return of Youth Troopers, a dynamic program designed for youth ages 8-11 years old. Led by Dedham Youth Commission's Greg Cabral and Dedham VSO Joe Hamilton, this unique initiative helps young people become the best they can be through engaging military-style activities, games, and team challenges.

Program Overview

Youth Troopers meets every Thursday from November 6 through December 11, 2025, from 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM at the Capen School Gymnasium, located at 310 Sprague Street.

Each week, participants will engage in physical exercises, team-building missions, and thought-provoking discussions that strengthen self-confidence, pride, and community spirit. The program includes Medal of Honor lessons, physical challenges, and reflective conversations that promote leadership and character development.

Building Healthy Habits and Respect

This empowering program helps youth build healthy routines, develop respect for themselves and others, and practice tolerance by working together toward shared goals. Youth Troopers encourages discipline, teamwork, and personal growth in a supportive and fun environment.

The program is specifically designed to help young people develop essential life skills while fostering positive relationships with peers and adult mentors.
