As our department works to improve and maintain Dedham's roadways, we also try to minimize disruptions caused by construction. The Construction Updates section below will be updated to keep everyone informed of construction project locations and estimated timelines.

While we will do our best to keep this page as accurate as possible, please be advised that the schedule of construction projects may change as road construction timelines are subject to a range of external factors, including weather, safety, contractor availability, design complications, and funding.

Construction Updates

Detour Updates Week of November 24

To help you plan your daily commute, we have compiled information about three upcoming detours into one place for your quick reference.

Please review the following detour information and updates for the week of November 24, 2025:

Dedham-Westwood Water District: East Street, Dedham Water Main Replacement Project

  • The DWWD contractor will be working Monday through Wednesday, from 7AM to 3PM to complete the remaining punch list items
    • Traffic impacts are expected to be minor

MBTA East Street Bridge Project (as of November 21, 2025)

  • East Street will be closed on the following days:
    • Weekdays (Monday through Friday) from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM through mid-December
      •  Please note, police details will be onsite to allow school buses to travel through the work zone.
      • No construction work will take place on Thursday, November 27 or Friday, November 28 due to the holiday.
  • Detour route in place is the same as weeks prior, and is available on the MBTA website.
