2026 Trash/Recycling Calendar – Coming Soon to your Mailbox!

All Dedham households will soon receive a printed copy of the 2026 Collections Guide in the mail that outlines all curbside trash, recycling, and yard waste collections. The weekly and bi-weekly schedules for trash and recycling will remain the same, so please continue to place your trash and recycling at the curb on your designated day and week. For more information about trash and recycling collections in Dedham, along with resources for upcycling and donating textiles for free, please visit www.dedham-ma.gov/trash_recycling. (Please note: a digital copy of the 2026 Collections Guide will also be made available on the Town website. Please stay tuned for future announcements of its mailing and availability.)

UPCOMING EXCESS RECYCLING WEEKS

Excess recycling collection will be provided for two weeks (one gray week and one maroon week) following the Christmas holiday to accommodate for overflow of materials accumulated over the holiday season. All excess recycling will be collected on your regular recycling day during the following two weeks ONLY:

  • Week of December 29 to January 3: Gray week
  • Week of January 5 to January 9: Maroon week

Please place all additional recyclables in OPEN barrels, paper bags or boxes next to your recycling bin at the curb for collection. All regular recycling guidelines still apply:

  • Accepted items include EMPTY metal food and beverage cans, plastic bottles, jugs, jars, and tubs, glass bottles and jars, paper, and flattened cardboard. Please visit www.recyclesmartma.org for more information and to download recycling guides (available in multiple languages).

CHRISTMAS TREE COLLECTION

The DPW will collect Christmas trees beginning in January 2026. Please remove all decorations, lights, and plastic from your Christmas and place it at the curb for collection. Please keep your tree at the curb for collection as DPW crews will continue collecting throughout the month of January or until necessary. Note: Collection may not occur on your regular trash collection day and may be delayed. Don't worry, DPW will come get your tree!
