Solar Canopy Construction Update (February 13, 2026)
Crews will install steel framing for solar canopy at Dedham Middle School over February break
Contractors will begin work today (Friday, February 13) at 5:00 PM in the Dedham Middle School side parking lot (shown in red below).
Description of Work and Schedule
- Crews and equipment will be onsite from 5PM Friday, February 13 through 6AM Monday, February 23
- Work includes installation of steel frames in the side parking lot
- Work hours will be 7AM to 5PM daily*, including weekends
- *Work will start at 8AM on Sundays
Anticipated Impacts
- Side parking lot entrance/exit will be restricted starting Friday, February 13
- Construction fencing will be installed Saturday, February 14 and removed on or before Sunday, February 22
- Visitors using the Dedham Middle School gym during this week should plan to park in other available spaces
- No anticipated impacts to sidewalks along Whiting Ave

Next Steps
After the steel framing is installed, crews will schedule installation of the solar panels, followed by coordination with the utility company to connect the panels for final use.
