Tonight's Snow Removal Update: Thursday, February 26

Overnight parking ban in effect tonight starting at 7PM; ongoing clearing and snow removal operations
Post Date:02/26/2026 1:00 pm

Thank you for moving your vehicles and bearing with us. Your cooperation made last night a real success. After some well-earned rest, our crews will be back out tonight to keep the momentum going.

Overnight Parking Ban: Starts at 7:00 PM Tonight

To give our plows and other snow removal equipment the room they need, there will be another overnight parking ban beginning at 7:00 PM. Here's what you need to know:

  • Park on the even-numbered side of the street (February is an even month), unless signs in your area say otherwise.
  • No parking on sidewalks: Make sure your vehicle isn't blocking one.
  • The following streets are completely off-limits for overnight parking: East Street (High St to Rte. 128), High Street, Common Street, Dedham Square, East Dedham Square, Bussey Street, Milton Street, Ames Street, Court Street, Sprague Street, Oakdale Square, Washington Street (Dedham to Westwood line), Needham Street, and Sanderson Avenue.

Vehicles parked in violation may be towed at the owner's expense. And wherever you park, please make sure your exhaust pipe is clear of snow.

Where Our Crews Are Headed Tonight

  • Dedham Square: Picking up right where we left off: sidewalk clearing and widening roads and intersections.
  • Washington St, East St, Sprague St: Sidewalk clearing, intersection widening, and removing as much snow as possible.
  • Across Town: Crews will be working to widen intersections and dead ends throughout the night.

Want to Lend a Hand?

If you're able, shoveling out a nearby sidewalk, fire hydrant, or storm drain goes a long way. And please take a moment to check in on neighbors who might need a little extra help.

Some Friendly Reminders and Contact Info
  • Downed tree or wire? Call 911 right away and please stay well back from it.
  • Any emergency: 911
  • Spot a dangerous intersection or a road you can't see around? Let us know: DPW: 781-751-9350
  • Non-emergency questions: 781-751-9300
  • Lost power? Eversource: 1-800-592-2000

If you're heading out, please go slow, especially in neighborhoods and around turns. Give plows and equipment plenty of space, keep your headlights on, and leave a little extra room between you and the car ahead.

Our crews are working incredibly hard for this community, and we're grateful for your patience every step of the way.

And remember, Spring is just 22 days away!!
