The Dedham Commission on Disability (COD) awards scholarships to Dedham residents to further their education or career and is now accepting applications.
One scholarship will be awarded to a Dedham resident who is graduating from a high school other than Dedham High School*. This $1,500 scholarship will be awarded for the second semester of freshman year. Each applicant and application will be reviewed and considered using the following criteria:
- An applicant with a disability
- An applicant planning to pursue a career in the field of disabilities
- An applicant who has volunteered time or has been paid to assist individuals with disabilities
- An applicant with a family member with a disability
Applications must be received by May 22, 2026
A second scholarship will be awarded to a Dedham resident who has graduated from high school and is planning to start a new career or continue his/her/their education at a college, university, or technical school. This $1,500 scholarship will be awarded for the second semester of the first year of study. Each applicant will be reviewed and considered using the following criteria:
- An applicant with a disability
- An applicant planning to pursue a career in the field of disabilities
- An applicant who has volunteered time or has been paid to assist individuals with disabilities
- An applicant with a family member with a disability
Applications must be received by May 22, 2026

*The Commission on Disability also awards scholarships to seniors graduating from Dedham High School. To access these scholarships, applicants must complete the Universal Application located in the DHS Guidance Department.
