The Procurement Department is a centralized office supporting and providing assistance to Town personnel to acquire goods, services, and contracts, as necessary to conduct Town business. The Procurement Department also provides management and oversight of state and federal grants. 

The primary goal of the Procurement Department is to provide assistance and oversight with the process of procuring quality goods and services in a fair, competitive and transparent manner, by using objective standards for the selection of contractors and vendors, through fair, impartial and uniform bidding, contract development and awarding processes.

DEDHAM HIGH SCHOOL LIBRARY RENOVATION 2022 - INVITATION FOR BIDS

The Town of Dedham's Facilities Department is seeking sealed bids to renovate the Dedham High School Library per plans and specifications to include installation of a new acoustical ceiling system, lighting, carpeting, painting, etc.

Please note that plans and specifications will be available starting on Friday January 14, 2022 at 12:00pm (noon) electronically upon written request by email to: dmoroney@dedham-ma.gov

There will be a prebid site visit on Wednesday January 19, 2022 at 12:00pm (noon) at the Dedham High School Library, 100 Whiting Avenue, Dedham, MA

The sealed bid opening date for filed sub-bidders including Acoustical Tile and Electrical is Friday January 28 at 12:00pm (noon) at the Dedham Town Hall, Meeting Room 305 at 450 Washington Street, Dedham, MA.  The sealed bid opening date for the General Contractor bid deadline is Friday February 11, 2022 at 12:00pm (noon) at the Dedham Town Hall, Meeting Room 305 at 450 Washington Street, Dedham, MA.  All bids can be mailed or delivered to Denise Moroney, Director of Facilities, Town Hall, 450 Washington Street Suite 402, Dedham MA 02026.

It is the responsibility of the contractors to ensure those dates and times are followed, otherwise, bids will be disqualified.

Please note that this project must be completed no later than September 2, 2022.

Governing Procurement Laws

THE FOLLOWING MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL LAWS REGULATE PROCUREMENT ACTIVITIES:

  • c.30B - Supplies and Services, Real Property, Surplus Equipment
  • c.30,39m - Public Works Construction
  • c.149 - Building Construction
  • c.7C, §§44-57 - Design Services

THE FOLLOWING THRESHOLDS DICTATE THE TYPE OF PROCUREMENT THAT OCCURS:

  • Less than $10,000 - Sound Business Practices
  • $10,000 to $50,000 - Formal Quote Process
  • $50,000 or more - Sealed Bid (IFB) or Proposal Process (RFP)

The CPO may opt to employ a more restrictive and competitive process when they feel such a process is in the Town's best interest.
