The Procurement Department is a centralized office supporting and providing assistance to Town personnel to acquire goods, services, and contracts, as necessary to conduct Town business. The Procurement Department also provides management and oversight of state and federal grants. 

The primary goal of the Procurement Department is to provide assistance and oversight with the process of procuring quality goods and services in a fair, competitive and transparent manner, by using objective standards for the selection of contractors and vendors, through fair, impartial and uniform bidding, contract development and awarding processes.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

 

Project: 2018-WAN

 

The Dedham Public Schools Technology Department is seeking sealed proposals  to install dark or lit fiber to create a ring around the Town of Dedham that would allow for connectivity for all of our seven (7) schools  in accordance with Plans & Specifications. 

 

Please note that Plans & Specifications will be available for pick up in person at the Business  Office located at 100 Whiting Ave., Dedham starting on Monday January 30th at 10am  or electronically upon written request by email to: srippin@dedham.k12.ma.us

 

There will be a Mandatory Pre-Bid Site Visit  on Monday February 6th, 2016 at 1:00pm at Dedham High School.

 

The Sealed Bids opening date is Monday March 13, 2017 at 10am in the Dedham Public School Business Office at 100 Whiting Avenue, Dedham, MA.

 

Bids can be mailed or delivered to the Dedham Public School District Administration Office Attn: Business Office,  100 Whiting Avenue, Dedham, MA 02026  until 10:00am  on March 13, 2017.  Beyond the 8:00am time deadline, additional bids may be hand delivered until 10:00am sharp (Bid Opening Time).  It’s the responsibility of the contractors to ensure those dates/times are followed, otherwise, bids will be disqualified.

 

Please note that work on this project must commence beginning  no earlier than July 1st, 2017.

THE FOLLOWING MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL LAWS REGULATE PROCUREMENT ACTIVITIES:

  • c.30B - Supplies and Services, Real Property, Surplus Equipment
  • c.30,39m - Public Works Construction
  • c.149 - Building Construction
  • c.7C, §§44-57 - Design Services

THE FOLLOWING THRESHOLDS DICTATE THE TYPE OF PROCUREMENT THAT OCCURS:

  • Less than $10,000 - Sound Business Practices
  • $10,000 to $50,000 - Formal Quote Process
  • $50,000 or more - Sealed Bid (IFB) or Proposal Process (RFP)

The CPO may opt to employ a more restrictive and competitive process when they feel such a process is in the Town's best interest.
