The Procurement Department is a centralized office supporting and providing assistance to Town personnel to acquire goods, services, and contracts, as necessary to conduct Town business. The Procurement Department also provides management and oversight of state and federal grants. 

The primary goal of the Procurement Department is to provide assistance and oversight with the process of procuring quality goods and services in a fair, competitive and transparent manner, by using objective standards for the selection of contractors and vendors, through fair, impartial and uniform bidding, contract development and awarding processes.

INVITATION FOR BID FOR DPW ROOF REPLACEMENT

The Town of Dedham Facilities & Maintenance Department invites sealed bids from Roofing Contractors for the Department of Public Works and Parks & Recreation Facility Selective Roof System Replacement Project located at 55 River St, Dedham, MA. The primary scope of work includes the removal and replacement of the existing roof areas with a new multiple-ply roofing assembly. All work shall be completed in accordance with plans and specifications.

Digital copies of the Bid documents will be available from the Town of Dedham by electronic request only. Submit request for digital copies of the Bid Documents to Bernardo Rodriguez via e-mail (brodriguez@dedham-ma.gov) with subject line Dedham DPW/Parks & Rec Roof Project. Bid documents will be available after 12:00 PM on March 18, 2022.

Sealed Bids will be opened and publicly read on Friday April 1, 2022 at 12:00 PM in the offices of The Town of Dedham, 450 Washington Street, Room 305, Dedham, MA. Bids received after this deadline will not be given consideration.

Attention is called to the fact that Massachusetts State MINIMUM wage rates apply to the work completed under this project. No less than the current, minimum wage rates as set forth by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts shall be paid on this project.

There will be a site visit at 55 River Street in Dedham on March 23, 2022 at 12:00 pm for bidders wishing to visit the jobsite. Please notify Bernardo Rodriguez (brodriguez@dedham-ma.gov) at the Town of Dedham Facilities & Maintenance Department of your intent to attend.

It is anticipated that an award will be made to permit the execution of the Work no earlier than July 1, 2022 and to be fully-complete by October 28, 2022. Once begun, all work must be executed in a continuous and uninterrupted fashion until it’s completion. Reasonable extensions to this schedule will be granted to accommodate periods of foul weather.

No bidder may withdraw their bid within sixty (60) days after the deadline for receipt of bids. Bids may be withdrawn only if requested in writing prior to the bid opening.

Each Bidder, by submitting their bid, certifies under penalties of perjury that its bid is in all respects bona fide, fair and made without collusion or fraud with another person or entity.

All bids are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Law, Chapter 149, Sections 44A thru 44H inclusive, as amended. Minimum wage rates have been established for this project by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, under the provisions of Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27G, inclusive as amended.

The right is reserved by The Town of Dedham to waive any informality in, or to reject any and all bids, if it is in the public interest to do so.

  • Less than $10,000 - Sound Business Practices
  • $10,000 to $50,000 - Formal Quote Process
  • $50,000 or more - Sealed Bid (IFB) or Proposal Process (RFP)

The CPO may opt to employ a more restrictive and competitive process when they feel such a process is in the Town's best interest.
