The Procurement Department is a centralized office supporting and providing assistance to Town personnel to acquire goods, services, and contracts, as necessary to conduct Town business. The Procurement Department also provides management and oversight of state and federal grants. 

The primary goal of the Procurement Department is to provide assistance and oversight with the process of procuring quality goods and services in a fair, competitive and transparent manner, by using objective standards for the selection of contractors and vendors, through fair, impartial and uniform bidding, contract development and awarding processes.

REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS for Designer Services
Town of Dedham/Dedham Public Schools
April 1, 2022

The Town of Dedham/Dedham Public Schools is seeking the services of a qualified Design Firm as defined in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 7C and as further defined by the provisions of this Request for Qualifications (RFQ), to provide Designer services for the Construction of a Safety Vestibule at Dedham Middle School located at 70 Whiting Ave. in Dedham, MA that will route visitors into the main office (“Project”). With this RFQ, the Owner is seeking Designer services for the schematic design, design development, construction document, bidding, construction administration, and close-out phases of the Project.

A complete copy of the RFQ is available by e-mail request to Denise Moroney at dmoroney@dedham-ma.gov after April 1, 2022.  Please include firm’s name, address, and contact person e-mail and cellphone number in order to receive notification of addenda.

An onsite briefing/informational meeting will be held on Wednesday April 6, 2022 at 1:00 pm at 70 Whiting Avenue, Dedham, MA 02026. Though not mandatory, the Owner highly recommends that potential respondents attend the briefing session.

Deadline to submit Responses is Friday April 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm.  Sealed Responses to this RFQ must be clearly labeled:

“Designer for the Dedham Middle School Safety Vestibule”
“Name of Respondent Individual or Firm ”

and delivered no later than 1:00 pm, Friday April 15, 2022 to:

The Town of Dedham reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or parts of proposals; to waive any defects, information, and minor irregularities; to accept exceptions to these specifications; to award contracts or to cancel this Request for Qualifications if it is in the Town’s best interest to do so.

THE FOLLOWING MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL LAWS REGULATE PROCUREMENT ACTIVITIES:

  • c.30,39m - Public Works Construction
  • c.149 - Building Construction
  • c.7C, §§44-57 - Design Services

THE FOLLOWING THRESHOLDS DICTATE THE TYPE OF PROCUREMENT THAT OCCURS:

  • Less than $10,000 - Sound Business Practices
  • $10,000 to $50,000 - Formal Quote Process
  • $50,000 or more - Sealed Bid (IFB) or Proposal Process (RFP)

The CPO may opt to employ a more restrictive and competitive process when they feel such a process is in the Town's best interest.
