The Procurement Department is a centralized office supporting and providing assistance to Town personnel to acquire goods, services, and contracts, as necessary to conduct Town business. The Procurement Department also provides management and oversight of state and federal grants. 

The primary goal of the Procurement Department is to provide assistance and oversight with the process of procuring quality goods and services in a fair, competitive and transparent manner, by using objective standards for the selection of contractors and vendors, through fair, impartial and uniform bidding, contract development and awarding processes.

REQUEST FOR SERVICES

OWNERS PROJECT MANAGER SERVICES

The Town of Dedham is seeking the services of a qualified Owner’s Project Manager (OPM) as defined in Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 44A½ and as further defined by the provisions of its Request for Services (RFS) to provide Project Management Services for the design, construction, addition to and/or renovation/replacement of the Oakdale School in Dedham, Massachusetts.

Sealed proposals for furnishing Owner's Project Management Services to the Town of Dedham for the Oakdale School project at 147 Cedar Street in Dedham in accordance with the Request for Services will be received at the Director of Facilities and Maintenance Office, Dedham Town Hall, 450 Washington Street, Suite 402, Dedham, MA 02026 until 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read.

The total project cost for the Oakdale School is estimated to be in the $45-60 million dollar range.  The Oakdale Elementary School is Dedham’s oldest elementary school and was built on its existing site in 1902.  The total gross square footage of the current school building is 53,524 and stands alone on a 6.9-acre parcel in a tight and busy residential neighborhood, fairly centrally located within the town’s boundaries. A potential approved project may include renovation and addition for the existing school and/or new construction.

An informational meeting and review of the site will be held on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at 4:00 PM at the school.

Responses to the RFS must be received no later than 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at the Town Hall, the Director of Facilities and Maintenance Office listed above

The Town of Dedham reserves the right to waive any formalities not required by law, to accept or reject any or all proposals or parts of proposals, and accept any bid it deems to be in the best interest of the Town of Dedham.

THE FOLLOWING THRESHOLDS DICTATE THE TYPE OF PROCUREMENT THAT OCCURS:

  • Less than $10,000 - Sound Business Practices
  • $10,000 to $50,000 - Formal Quote Process
  • $50,000 or more - Sealed Bid (IFB) or Proposal Process (RFP)

The CPO may opt to employ a more restrictive and competitive process when they feel such a process is in the Town's best interest.
