The Procurement Department is a centralized office supporting and providing assistance to Town personnel to acquire goods, services, and contracts, as necessary to conduct Town business. The Procurement Department also provides management and oversight of state and federal grants. 

The primary goal of the Procurement Department is to provide assistance and oversight with the process of procuring quality goods and services in a fair, competitive and transparent manner, by using objective standards for the selection of contractors and vendors, through fair, impartial and uniform bidding, contract development and awarding processes.

OAKDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

ADVERTISEMENT FOR DESIGNER SERVICES

The Town of Dedham (“Owner”) is seeking the services of a qualified “Designer” within the meaning of M.G.L. Chapter 7C, Section 44 to provide professional design and construction administration services for the Oakdale Elementary School in Dedham, Massachusetts.  Selection of a Designer will be made by the Designer Selection Panel of the Massachusetts School Building Authority (“MSBA”) in accordance with the MSBA’s Designer Selection Procedures.

The Owner is seeking design services initially for feasibility study and schematic design services as those services are detailed in the standard contract of the MSBA.  The Project consists of either the construction of a new Elementary School on the current site, a site to be determined or an addition and/or renovation of the existing Elementary School(s). The estimated project cost is $50M - $80M.  The time period for completed work will be 18 months for feasibility study/schematic design. 

The Feasibility Phase study will be based on:

  • Enrollment for Grades 1-5, at the Oakdale ES: 235 students.
  • Enrollment for Grades 1-5, in a consolidated Oakdale and Riverdale ES: 450 students.
  • Enrollment for Grades 1-5, in a consolidated Oakdale and Greenlodge ES: 550 students.

A complete Request for Services (RFS) will be available after 11:00 AM on August 24, 2022, by email request to Anissa Ellis from Compass Project Management at aellis@compasspminc.com.

An informational briefing session will commence on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 10:00am at Oakdale Elementary School, 147 Cedar St, Dedham, MA 02026.

Sealed responses will be received on or before 1:00 pm on September 21, 2022 by Denise Moroney, Director of Facilities and Maintenance, Dedham Town Hall, 450 Washington Street, Suite 402, Dedham, MA 02026.

THE FOLLOWING THRESHOLDS DICTATE THE TYPE OF PROCUREMENT THAT OCCURS:

  • Less than $10,000 - Sound Business Practices
  • $10,000 to $50,000 - Formal Quote Process
  • $50,000 or more - Sealed Bid (IFB) or Proposal Process (RFP)

The CPO may opt to employ a more restrictive and competitive process when they feel such a process is in the Town's best interest.
