The Procurement Department is a centralized office supporting and providing assistance to Town personnel to acquire goods, services, and contracts, as necessary to conduct Town business. The Procurement Department also provides management and oversight of state and federal grants. 

The primary goal of the Procurement Department is to provide assistance and oversight with the process of procuring quality goods and services in a fair, competitive and transparent manner, by using objective standards for the selection of contractors and vendors, through fair, impartial and uniform bidding, contract development and awarding processes.

TOWN OF DEDHAM BOARD OF SELECTMEN

Search Firm to Assist With Town Manager Recruiting & Hiring

The Dedham Board of Selectmen seeks proposals from qualified consultants, consulting firms, or executive recruiters to provide executive search services for the position of Town Manager. The consultant, consulting firm or executive recruiter will assist the Board in recruiting and selecting the new Town Manager using the process outlined in the Request for Proposals (RFP).

The Request for Proposals (RFP) will be available in the Town Manager’s Office, 26 Bryant Street, Room 209, Dedham, MA 02026, (781) 751-9100 after 8:30 am EST on Tuesday, February 19, 2019.

The RFP is also available via email by contacting Nancy Baker in the Town Manager’s Office at 781-751-9100 or by email at nbaker@dedham-ma.gov 

Proposals will be received until 4 p.m. EST on Friday, March 1, 2019 and should be submitted to:

Governing Procurement Laws

THE FOLLOWING MASSACHUSETTS GENERAL LAWS REGULATE PROCUREMENT ACTIVITIES:

  • c.30B - Supplies and Services, Real Property, Surplus Equipment
  • c.30,39m - Public Works Construction
  • c.149 - Building Construction
  • c.7C, §§44-57 - Design Services

THE FOLLOWING THRESHOLDS DICTATE THE TYPE OF PROCUREMENT THAT OCCURS:

  • Less than $10,000 - Sound Business Practices
  • $10,000 to $50,000 - Formal Quote Process
  • $50,000 or more - Sealed Bid (IFB) or Proposal Process (RFP)

The CPO may opt to employ a more restrictive and competitive process when they feel such a process is in the Town's best interest.
