To help you plan your daily commute, we have compiled information about three upcoming detours into one place for your quick reference.

Please review the following detour information and updates for the week of September 29, 2025:

  • Dedham-Westwood Water District: East Street, Dedham Water Main Replacement Project

    • Night work will occur Sunday, September 28, 8 p.m., to Monday, September 29, 5 a.m. The contractor will continue working on East Street near Vincent Road.
      • East Street will be closed to through traffic from the rotary to Vincent Road. A detour will be in effect.
    • For the remainder of the week: Daytime work will occur, Monday, September 29 through Friday, October 3, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., including:
        • Pressure test, chlorinate, and disinfect the next section of water main (past Liana Lane to Vincent Road).
        • Service line connections will likely convene mid-week, starting Wednesday on East Street between 1007 East Street and Liana Lane.
          • For residents who are connected to the temporary water main, you will receive a notification with instructions regarding the next steps. The process is the reverse of when we connected you to the temporary water main.
        • Traffic impacts: At the start of the week, the contractor anticipates traffic to flow as usual, two lanes. Once service connection work begins, an alternating traffic pattern will be in effect near the work zone.
