View Dedham updates on COVID-19. Town Hall remains closed to the public until further notice, but Town staff are providing services remotely.

In Massachusetts, cities and towns are required periodically to develop a master plan that defines municipal goals and policies relating to:

  • land use,
  • housing,
  • economic development,
  • natural and cultural resources,
  • open space and recreation,
  • services and facilities,
  • transportation, and
  • master plan implementation.

According to State statute, each master plan should be “designed to provide a basis for decision-making regarding the long-term physical development of the municipality.”

Dedham developed master plans in 1996 and 2009. The Master Plan Implementation Committee updated the 2009 plan in 2016-2017. For more information, please see the documents on this webpage. (The Word file includes hyperlinks to online resources.)
