Annual Events in Dedham

James Joyce Ramble- This event features a 10K road race as well as a take-a-walk event and a Children’s Ramble. It is held on the last Sunday in April at the Endicott Estate. More information can be found at

Bi- Annual Recycling Event- Organized by the Dedham Sustainability Advisory Committee, this event often offers the collection of Styrofoam (polystyrene plastic (stamped #6), electronics, scrap metal, paper for shredding, textiles and mercury products. The event is held at the Dedham Middle School and event dates will be posted on the Community Calendar. Contact the Environmental Department for more information.

Flag Day Parade- Held on Flag Day each year, June 14th, this annual parade is organized by the Parks and Recreation Department.

Dedham Farmer’s Market- Organized by the Dedham Square Circle, the Dedham Farmer’s Market is held on the First Church Green, Dedham Square on Wednesdays, late spring through October. More information can be found at

Arts at Endicott Summer Concert Series- The Dedham Junior Women’s Club offers a series of concerts at the Endicott Estate on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer months. For more information please visit          

Four on the Fourth – An annual road race is held on July 4th of each year to raise money for the Sally Naser Charitable Foundation in honor of Sally Naser, a young girl battling a rare bone cancer. Race originates on Rustcraft Road. More information can be found at        

BSAAC Car Show – The Baystate Antique Auto Club’s annual car show is held at the Endicott Estate in July. For more information visit        

Dedham Trails Day- This event features a fun family festival as well as race events on both land and water and takes place at the Dolan Recreation Center each summer, but the date varies. Organized by the Environmental Department and Sustainability Advisory Committee, visit for more information.

Dedham Day- Held by the Friends of Dedham Recreation and the Friends of the Dedham Pool each September at John Barnes Memorial park, the event features a barbecue, games, rides, crafts, shows, music and the annual memorial mega (cow flap).

College Fair in the Square- Dozens of colleges from New England and beyond flock to the Square to host information tables for prospective college students. Held in October. For more information please visit  

Household Hazardous Waste Day- Held by the Board of Health in October, this event allows residents to responsibly dispose of numerous household hazardous waste items for free. The event will be posted on the Community Calendar each year.

Trunk or Treat-  Dedham Square Circle partners with Fellowship Church and St. Luke's to host a fun-filled afternoon.  Kids dressed in their Halloween costumes trick or treat at over 25 decorated cars parked in town hall parking lot. DJWC Craft Fair- The Craft Fair is a juried show with over 100 spaces filled by more than 80 artisans with lovely handcrafted items. All funds raised at this event are donated back to the community by the Dedham Junior Women’s Club. The event is held at the Dedham Middle School in November. Dedham Square Circle Fall Party- In November, the Dedham Square Circle plans a fundraiser complete with creative themes, fantastic food, drink and company.  More information can be found at  

Family Gratitude 5K Turkey Trot- This Thanksgiving morning event features a 5K race as well as a 1/2 mile run for children. The event is organized by Ripples of Hope and is held at the Endicott Estate. For more information please visit

Holiday Stroll & Tree Lighting - Merchants in Dedham Square stay open late to offer special discounts, promotions, complimentary refreshments, free goodies and raffles, and lots of holiday cheer. Ceremonial lighting of the town's Christmas tree, street performers, entertainment, roving carolers and constumed characters. Fun for all ages. Held on the first Friday in December in the Square.
