About
The Town of Dedham is serviced by the Dedham-Westwood Water District (DWWD). The DWWD is a non-profit, locally controlled public water system, and the only water supplier available in our area.
The DWWD was created by the Massachusetts legislature in 1985 to operate as a self-supporting unit of local government. Rates are set by the Water Commissioners to cover the cost of delivering a product which meets federal and state guidelines under the Safe Drinking Water Act.
Policy is also set by the Board; a six member commission with three commissioners from each town (Dedham and Westwood), appointed by their Select Board. Public meetings are held each month at the District’s office at 50 Elm Street in Dedham and the DWWD posts the dates of those meetings at town hall and on the DWWD website.
