New to Dedham in 2026, the annual Hometown Heroes Banner Program will honor current and former residents of the community who have served, or are currently serving, our country in the US Armed Forces.

Banners will be designed, printed, and installed honoring these individuals on an annual basis and will feature the individual's photo, name, branch of service and/or credentials. (Please see sample banner below)

Eligibility

Honoree (Veteran/Service Member) must fulfill one of the requirements below.

Dedham Hometown Heroes Banner example
  • Any active or reserve member of the U.S. the U.S. Military who lives or lived in Dedham, MA as a long-term resident.
  • Any U.S. Military Veteran, living or deceased, and honorably discharged, who lives or lived in Dedham, MA as a long-term resident.

Long-term residency is defined as living in Dedham for at least 10 years or having grown up in Dedham and attended Dedham Public Schools.

Banner Specifications

Each double-sided banner is 24" x 48" and includes:

  • Hero’s Rank and Name
  • Photo
  • Service Branch and Era
  • Dates of Service
